Be Part of This Movement
8,500 Registrations.
A number.
But behind this number are 8,500 people who chose to turn a run into a thank-you.
Today, that number stands alongside another: 10,000 people who will line the running track on October 4th — not to run, but to cheer.
This is not just about a marathon.
It is about recognising the doctors who stand beside us during some of the most vulnerable moments of our lives.
It is about families, patients, healthcare workers, students, and citizens coming together to say:
“We see you. We value you. We thank you.”
The momentum is growing every day.
What began as an idea has become a movement.
What began as a conversation is becoming a city-wide voice.
And this is only the beginning.
To every participant who has registered, every supporter who will show up to cheer, and everyone who shared a poster or spoke about this — thank you.
Together, we are building something bigger than an event.
8,500 runners. 10,000 supporters. One morning Chennai won’t forget
The Happy Doctor Marathon is not just a run.
It is a thank-you note — written with your feet.
Everyday, doctors give their best to strangers. They skip sleep, miss family dinners, and carry the weight of other people’s worst days. And most of the time, we never get the chance to truly say thank you.
This marathon is that chance.
Organised by the Happy Doctor, this is India’s first community marathon built entirely around gratitude for the medical community. Runners, families, students, and working professionals all come together — not for medals or rankings — but to show up for the people who always showed up for us.
Run on-ground in Chennai or virtually from anywhere in India.
You have a doctor to thank. Maybe it's your family doctor or someone you have known since childhood.
You have a doctor to thank — family doctor, surgeon, someone who showed up when it mattered. A donation is more than money. It's a heartfelt thank you.
Start Sunday with purpose in your legs, pride on your chest, and the satisfaction of giving back. Every rupee you donate makes a real difference.
Start Sunday the way you wish every day felt. With purpose in your legs, pride on your chest, and the quiet satisfaction of doing something back to someone who gave you their best. The finish line is just the beginning.
6,000 people. One purpose. That's not a race — that's a movement.
This community stands on values and virtues. Bring your friends, show up in numbers — not just physically, but financially. Your support matters right now.
Doctors rarely hear "thank you" in public. Your presence at this event — your registration, your run, your voice — sends a message to every doctor in this city: We see you. We value you. We are here for you.

Every city is shaped by what it celebrates. Chennai = Right Values. Now, Chennai = Gratitude. To showcase this at scale, we need funds. Show who Chennai truly is

Grab Your Spot
Pick the distance that works for you:
Before you run, write the name of a doctor you want to dedicate your run to. The Pledge Wall turns thousands of steps into personal stories.
Celebrating doctors who make healthcare more humane. Recognising meaningful contribution, compassion, and excellence in healthcare.
Every participant receives a finisher’s T-shirt and a digital certificate — a keepsake that reminds you of the day you ran for something real.
Live coverage, photographs, music at the start line, and thousands of people who are all there for the same beautiful reason. Race day will feel unlike any run you’ve done before.
Can’t make it to Chennai? Register as a virtual participant, run on the same day from wherever you are in India, and receive your T-shirt and certificate by post.
Take a moment.
Run for the Doctor Who Was There for You.
There was a moment — a late night, a frightening diagnosis, an emergency — when a stranger in a white coat walked in and made everything feel less impossible.
They showed up for your family completely, quietly, without hesitation.
They never knew how much that moment stayed with you.
This is your chance. Your run is your message.

Start your Sunday with meaning. Bring your team. Run as a group.
The 10KM route is ready for you. Personal bests are great. Running for a purpose is better.

Yes, you are invited too. This day is for you — and you deserve to be in the middle of it.
One event. Every kind of person. One shared reason.
Not at all. The 2KM category is designed for everyone — including children, seniors, and first-time participants. If you can walk, you can join.
Anyone. There is no age restriction for the 2KM and 5KM categories. The 10KM category is recommended for those above 16 years. Participants below 12 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Doctors don’t ask for applause. They don’t run for medals.
But on October 4th, 2026, an entire city is going to show up at 5:30 in the morning to say:
We haven’t forgotten. We are grateful. This one’s for you.
Slots are limited to 6,000 on-ground participants.
When they’re gone, they’re gone.
